Rescue

Gentle Friends rescues all of our farm animals from neglect, abuse, or pending slaughter. Commercial farming practices rarely consider the mental and emotional needs of animals and have little concern for their basic physical welfare.

Advocacy

Gentle Friends supports large scale advances in humane, sustainable farming practices that benefit both animals and humans. Little changes can have large impacts, and you really can make a difference!

Education

Farm Animal Rescue

Gentle Friends attends local auctions where animals are sold for commercial production and slaughter, and we also work with humane law enforcement agencies to help farm animals who have suffered at the hands of humans.

All of our animals receive individualized medical care, and many are available for adoption into new homes as loved family pets and companions, where they can experience love and safety for the rest of their days.

The farm animals of Gentle Friends are also available to visit schools, groups, and clubs to share our animals and their unique stories. Please contact us to learn more.

Wildlife Rehabilitation

Gentle Friends is working to alter the way that humans view the wild animals who share our world. We educate on how to live together and understand the rights and value of all animals as living, feeling beings.

Theo is a spunky little Bantam Cochin, who now has his own flock of lovely little ladies to keep watch over. His favorite hobby is chasing dogs!

Originally removed from a negligent home, Hank grew into a friendly fellow who loves being with people. He now lives with a family in Westminster where he has his own pond and many duck friends.

Stormy

Stormy came to Gentle Friends from a family who no longer had time for him. He quickly found his perfect person, who loved his quirky personality.

Ryder

An adorable Nubian, Ryder was an unwanted byproduct of the dairy goat industry. Lucky enough to find Gentle Friends, he now has a safe pet home where he can live out his days.
